Here are your answers:
What do you guys get out of this?
Absolutely nothing. We're just putting this out there for other artists to use if they have a want or a need to use the logo too. It's free - no money involved.
What does the Artist Authorized logo look like?
The logo has 2 different marks. The first is meant for the front cover of a CD, either to print directly on the artwork or to make into a sticker and put on the shrink-wrap. It looks like this:

The second mark is meant to be placed on the backside of the CD, on the bottom area where the copyright and other info go. It looks like this:

How do I request a free license to use the logo?
If you're an artist, go to the License Request Form page, read it, and fill out the form. It's that simple.
I think this is a cool idea, but I'm not the artist. What do I need to do?
The logo and licenses will only be issued to artists themselves, hence the term ARTIST AUTHORIZED. If you know or work with an artist that you think may find this useful, send them to this site, and if they want the license, they can fill out the request form.
Does the license cost anything?
Not a penny. We're just putting this out there for other artists that might find this useful.
Can I get the license for more than one album at a time?
Yes. However, as you will see on the request form, the license is issued for a specific album, so you will need to fill out the form again for each album you want to use the logo on. So if you have 3 albums you want to put the Artist Authorized logo on, you will end up filling out the request form 3 times, each time with all of your info plus the specific album name you are requesting the license for.
What if I'm releasing just one song - can I get a license to use the logo for that?
Yes. When you fill out the request form, you have the option to get the license for a whole album or a single track.
How long does it take to get the logo after I fill out the license request?
Keep in mind that we're a small label operation ourselves, and we spend our days working to build our business, the same as you do. We will do our best to be as expedient as possible, but you should allow 5 business days between requesting the license and getting an email back from us with the license and logo.
What are the dimensions of the logo and what file format do you send me after I request the logo license?
The front CD cover logo is round, and the dimensions are 1 1/3" inches. The "block logo" on the back of the jewel case is 4.5" X 6" inches.
How do I handle making my works show the Artist Authorized logo for digital downloads?
We're still working on this ourselves, and we'll update this FAQ question as we have time to do some exploring on this. For now, the easiest way is to provide the digital download service with a scanned copy of your CD cover art with the logo and/or sticker on the CD cover. For instance, if you are submitting a record for placement on iTunes, make sure the digital aggregator you work with has with the logo on it so they can submit that to iTunes along with your music. That way the logo will show up on the CD cover image on the iTunes page along with your music.
I think this is a cool idea and I want to help get the word out about Artist Authorized. What can I do to help?
Go to the Contact page and fill it out to let us know you are interested. We will get in touch with you and can send you Artist Authorized web banners and links that you can put on your website. Muchas gracias to anybody who wants to help us let people know about this!
How long has Artist Authorized been around?
Well, this whole thing is pretty much brand new. We just put the Artist Authorized logo on our new record coming out in May 2008, and we launched this website in March 2008. So if you're reading this now, congrats on being one of those hipster types that's the first to be in the know about stuff!
